Silent mirth!!

You probably had to be there.... JT was there and didn't really find it funny, but I was in hysterics!!

This evening we paid a visit to Nando's, where my friend Annie works. We had just ordered our food when I noticed a very posh family at the table next to us. being a bit of an avid people watcher, I observed them with interest, but wasn't really prepared for what I saw!

The mother (in her forties, shortish blonde stylishly dyed hair, navy blue M&S trouser suit with high waist band and white T-shirt, know the sort? Slim and professional looking) was sitting at an angle by one of her sons, who was probably about 7. He had an over-sized mop of blonde hair and little glasses.

I turned in astonishment as the little boy (who was playing with a cocktail stick) with a deft and somewhat mistaken flick of the wrist 'pinged' the cocktail stick straight out of his hand and straight down his mother's cleavage!! I opened my mouth in horror but the mother didn't even notice!! It went straight down her top and there it stayed. The little boy looked horrified, mortified and guilty all at once, but didn't say anything, he just turned around and ate his dinner. I was fidgety all the way through dinner with visions of this poor lady standing up and puncturing something, followed by a steady hiss of air as one of her boobs deflated... Maybe I have watched too many cartoons...

The lady stood up and left without any of the above occurring, but I can't help wondering at her confusion when she undresses later and finds a cocktail stick where cocktail sticks are not normally present!!

I love Skype!!

This morning I am really pleased :-) Isn't Skype great? I just had a free call from Melody in Australia (I miss her loads :-( ) and we chatted on the web cam, it was hilarious! I had just rolled out of bed and was wearing 'whatever' with my hair looking like a small hay stack and she was just writing an evening assignment for tonight (it was about 6pm over there). In this picture I am laughing out loud at the type of story that only Melody could pull off.... There was a big storm recently, so big that she got her duvet and slept in her walk-in wardrobe!!! I laughed a lot.

Anyway, it was great to see that she is alive and well and loving the Oz-land. The course is also going well, apparently the other day she had to throw a song together playing an instrument that she'd never played before!! She learnt keys, the drummers were singing etc etc. Sounds like fun! She has been promoted from car park duty to baby duty and is looking forward to her parents visiting on Saturday. I was particularly amused to see that she had fairy lights around her bed - what a cool idea!

Looking forward to December where she will be back for 5 weeks - yay!

Round of applause everybody, Dave Dorey!

As we cleared Jane's garage after the disastrous flood yesterday, Dave still managed to find time to style his hair! Classic.

The ducks are ready!!

Tonight our cluster is going duck racing... This involves throwing a duck in the river at Bourton and chasing it all the way down to Birdland! It is great fun. JT asked me if I'd mind decorating his duck. I agreed, thinking it would involve painting on a pair of goggles etc. But no, JT has got into his role as Wolverine a little too much of late and wanted a Wolverine duck!! No easy challenge.

My duck is characteristically pink - Princess duck! She is sporting a cape and sunglasses by "DCUK" - the latest in duck fashion.

Excellent! I'll have a free takeaway please!

Never noticed this on the Everest before but you can have free takeaways as well as home delivery! Nice.

The coolest thing I've seen all day...

Check this!!! "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley.... But played on the THEREMIN!! The world's most peculiar instrument that is strangely cool. Believe it or not I have actually had a go on one!

Trinity's very own boy band!

Thousands of women gathered at the Centaur for a conference was enough to scare the living daylights out of these poor boys, but they don't seem to show it!! Over to Mark, Jake, Jon and Dave!
