1 - In your Gradient palette (make sure it is set to Show Options), select linear and then simply set the angle of the gradient.
2 - Select the Gradient tool and drag a line much as you would in Photoshop on the object that already has the gradient applied to it.
Ahhhh of course!! Thanks so much Wé on!! xxx
For wrapping the text, select the text objects and make them a Symbol.
Next, create a basic circle.
Go to Effect > 3D > Extrude & Bevel and play with the settings until you have a shape that looks like your pot.
Click the Map Art button and select the correct surface. Select the Symbol from the drop-down. Move and scale as appropriate.
OK all of that.
You may now have a Cylinder with the art mapped on it but Simply go to Object > Expand Appearance and then delete the extraneous objects from the group in the Layers palette.
Weon you are an absolute legend!! Thank you so much!! xx Afterwards I need to re-make it using isometric grids... :-S xx
