Londonia

This weekend was great. We trundled off to London on Saturday and adopted Louise and Mark's flat/hotel for the weekend. The flat is beautiful and overlooks Kew Gardens! It is wonderfully peaceful and was a great opportunity to chill out.

On Saturday we headed into London and did a bit of V&A (see amazing chandelier photo), Harrods (so many pretty handbags and some real kitties!!), marveled at the sparkles in the Svaroski shop (and fainted at the prices), did a bit of Oxford Street and wound up in Bella Pasta for a yummy tea!

I feel so small when we go to London, the buildings are at least 3x as tall as Cheltenham and there are so many people looking very important!

On Sunday (today) we legged it into the centre again to watch bro-in-law Simon run the marathon. In the 24+ degree heat I was in awe at his 3 hours 31 minute run and moreover at the fact that he didn't seem at all phased at the end, he had just gained a slight limp. I am a very proud sister-in-law. It was all a bit crowded for me after that and I got a bit scared, but we made it home, watching a beautiful sunset all down the motorway.

So you got to see the pet section in Harrods - amazing what sort of things people buy their pets! They only open at certain times - so as not to tire the animals out!
