Also, take the picture on a white background to begin with.
Try playing with colour levels and colour selection tools.
Thanks! I was going to take it on white but I thought that it might be tricvky with the gum being white also... I may play with the colour to make it grey...!!
Hope its not too late to say but praps if you carve a line down the middle it will look like the two hemispheres of a brain x
