Packets of garden seats... Lost in translation!

Today I was mystified... JT and I were standing at the till in Wilkos (Woohoo!!) when a peculiar announcement came across the tannoys (or so I thought!!) "Ladies and gentlemen, just to let you know we are now stocking packets of garden seats, available in store today". I said (rather too loudly...) "PACKETS of seats?! What kind of English is that?! They don't come in PACKETS!" JT looked at me in a way that said "have you gone comPLETEly mad woman?!" and said "Yeah they do?! They come in those little packets - I'll show you as we walk out!" I frowned even more and said "No they don't!! Little packets?! I just don't think packet is the right word". JT looks at me as though I have gone totally insane and said "why what would YOU call them?!" We walked out of the shop past a hundred garden chairs and JT says "Hmmm maybe they are not by the door after all". I look at him like he's lost the plot now, point gently to the chairs and say "...you mean those? The word I would use is shrink wrap, not packets of seats". At this point he burst out laughing and said "noooooo packets of SEEDS!!!! Not SEATS!" Ah. Ok. *blonde strikes again*
