The Pudding club

Whilst having dinner with the aforementioned lovely Chris and Aline last night, we came up with a cunning scheme... We were talking about a place called THE PUDDING CLUB in Mackleton/Mickleton (?!?) I was meant to go there for a staff do at Christmas but sadly couldn't. Apparently it costs around £22 a month to be a member of it, but you have a meal and then sample 7 or 8 puddings made by top quality chefs. You then have to cast a vote as to which is your favourite and the chef with the most votes at the end of the night wins a prize. How cool! But £22 a month is a bit steep, s we thought, how about do our own??

I had previously considered doing a dinner party showdown (like Pop Idol but like, Dinner Party Idol or something!!) where all members took it in turns to host a dinner party, with points for etiquette, table layout, service, food, entertainment etc but it could be a bit time consuming, so maybe a pudding club would work better...? Each member would bring a pudding which could be sampled by all. everyone would vote for the best pudding and the chef with the most votes at the end wins a prize! If everyone paid £1 to attend then the winner could potentially have a nice bottle of wine or something at the end!

The real purpose of it is to get together with friends, have nice food and drink, socialise, relax and have a good laugh. Watch this space!!

Wow! Sounds gorgeously calorific but good fun too. I would like to stretch my pudding-making capabilities as I tend to stick to savouries. Let me know of any likely dates etc
